Sue James Landscape Design has been established near Oxford, Oxfordshire since 1995. The workload is varied mainly between commercial design and landscape management contracts, private contemporary garden design with additional consultancy work for environmental statements, landscape management and landscape assessment.

Sue James is a chartered landscape architect with 11 years experience gained whilst running the practice and during past employment with Landscape Design Associates and the environmental organisation, Groundwork.

Sue's work includes commercial, and garden designs, public open spaces and play areas, highway design, housing schemes, landscape management and restoration, landscape assessment, visual impact studies, environmental statements, detailed design of both hard and soft landscapes, community education and volunteer programmes, environmental interpretation and graphic design and communication projects. She is also an experienced project manager, taking schemes right through the design process, from inception to implementation.

Whilst at college, Sue won three annual portfolio prizes for her design work. She has travelled widely to Europe, Japan, New Zealand and the USA where she enjoys keeping sketchbook journals and discovering landscapes of the past and present.
